Laura H. Tyler is the CEO Arisa Health, Inc. headquartered in Springdale, AR. Arisa Health is an affiliation of four state-designated community mental health centers that serves 41 counties in AR. Laura has worked in Behavioral Health for more than 40 years. She began her career as a mental health professional working with individuals with serious and persistent mental illness.
She is a licensed professional counselor and holds a doctorate degree in Health Services Organization and Research from Virginia Commonwealth University. Her career also includes work in Georgia where she served as the CEO of a nonprofit organization that assisted clients with intellectual & developmental disabilities, mental health diagnoses and substance abuse disorders. She was recruited to the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock where she had a role in the opening and operation of the Psychiatric Research Institute. She later served as Vice Chancellor and Chief Integration Officer at UAMS.
She is interested in the integration of primary and behavioral health services for a more holistic approach to care that allows individuals to make choices about their own recovery and wellness. She has taught graduate courses in Health Administration and enjoys working with young professionals as it is an opportunity for her to invest in others.
Laura served as President of the Mental Health Council of Arkansas and is currently on the Advisory Board of the Arkansas Center for Health Improvement.
Laura is a native Arkansan. She has been married for 41 years to Mark who teaches math at Shiloh. They have two grown sons: Ted and Jack. Jack is married to Kate – a wonderful addition to the family. Laura has always loved school & learning. She is usually up for an adventure especially if it entails travel. For fun, Laura enjoys quilting, walking, reading, listening to podcasts and time spent in the kitchen with family and friends.
