President and CEO, Washington Regional Medical Center

J. Larry Shackelford became President and CEO of Washington Regional in 2017 and has been employed by Washington Regional since 2010. Prior to joining Washington Regional, he served as CEO at Medical Associates of Northwest Arkansas (MANA). Shackelford earned a bachelor’s in business administration from the University of Arkansas and worked for the accounting firm Baird, Kurtz and Dobson before entering health care administration.

Shackelford is a certified public accountant (inactive), and a fellow in the American College of Medical Practice Executives. He serves as chairman of the board for Partnership for Healthy Arkansas and chairman-elect of the board for the Arkansas Hospital Association, and chairman elect of the Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce. Shackelford is also a member of the Arvest Bank Board, the Dean’s Executive Advisory Board for the Walton School of Business at the University of Arkansas, the Northwest Arkansas Council, and the Arkansas State Chamber of Commerce. He also served as a member of the Governor’s Winter Covid Taskforce and currently serves as a member of the Pastor’s Council at Cross Church - NWA.
